Well, I bit the bullet, bout a new e-ink reader that starting to show up in my video feeds. Chinese, small, attaches to the back of the phone... etc. etc..
85CAD later on Aliexpress, what the heck...
Then it came.. took few tries and confirmed the following...
Cheaper Aliexpress give you Chinese version of the device, meaning you'll need to flash the rom before anything else. CrossPoint is nice, but when you need to read in non english books (especially Korean) then it's still not an option. Though the interface is way more intuitive.
The using cloud sync, takes really long time, just use the sd card to move books, makes more sense. especially when you are moving files that are more than 400MB, I think that was the limit when attempting to cloud sync. Yes, files bigger than 400MB can open and the response is not bad. Very usable.
Will I buy it again? so far, it's nice, and I can bring it anywhere. If it had backlight would be great, then again, don't want to deal with thicker design at this point.
